I have never asked for a big wedding, even as a little girl. I wanted a small wedding by the lake and when it came time to get married – that is exactly what I had. While I did have money and could have afforded much more, I took the simple route – nature was my decoration. You see, I’m a simple girl who does not ask for much – not even during a wedding. However, I know that some have bigger plans and that is okay. Below, I am going to give you 8 tips on having the perfect wedding …

8. Don’t Invite People You do Not Know
I don’t think you should invite people you do not know. If you have not spoken to someone in years, then there is no reason to invite them to your wedding.
7. Have a Wedding by the Lake
This is my idea of a perfect wedding – since that is what I had. A wedding by the lake is beautiful.
Frequently asked questions
6. Have an Eco-Friendly Wedding
On the wedding menu, use organic produce as much as possible. Make sure you do not include any artificial sweeteners or flavours. If you are having the ceremony on the countryside, then organic produce would be great. For decorations, avoid using that floral foam – it is poisonous to the earth. Use fresh flowers that have been organically grown. Don’t use paraffin wax candles – use beeswax candles. Also, order an organic wedding cake.
5. Decorate the Entryway
Putting beautiful decorations in the entryway will give a warm welcome to the guests of your wedding. Remember, the first look is the one that counts the most.
4. Table Decorations
The decorations are always beautiful in the center of a table. However, it is important that you keep the decorations under fourteen inches tall. This way, the guests will be able to comfortably talk to those that are in front of them, without having to look over a centrepiece.

3. Plan Ahead of Time
In order to make sure everything goes exactly as planned, you should plan ahead of time. Call the florist six months in advance and send those invitations out. Also, along with planning ahead of time, you should always make sure you have a backup plan, just in case something does not go as planned.
2. For the Little Ones
For the little ones that will be attending the wedding, make gift bags. The gift bags should be filled with age appropriate things. Perhaps some crayons, paint, yo’yo’s and all that fun stuff would be great for the children.
1. The Photographer
In order to have the perfect wedding, you will need to have a perfect photographer, this way, you will be able to keep those memories of that day in your mind – looking at the beautiful photographs and sharing them with your friends and family will keep it even more alive.
Those are the 8 tips on having the perfect wedding. Of course, I believe that as long as you are happy with your wedding, then it is perfect. Remember, I had a small wedding that had between 15-20 guests. I did my own hair and my own makeup – We didn’t put a whole lot of planning in it and we are happy with the way it turned out. I believe our wedding was perfect. What about you?
