By Alicia

There are so many reasons to choose black and white wedding photos. Of course color wedding photos are beautiful too, and you should probably get some in color and some black and white. They each have reasons to choose them but for now, let’s think about some reasons to choose black and white wedding photos.

1 They Are Timeless

They Are TimelessBlack and white photos have a timeless quality. They don’t capture trends in the same way that color photos do. For example, you will not see frosty lipstick and multicolor eye shadow in black and white pictures from the 80s but you will see it in color photos of that time period. Black and white photos will give your wedding pictures a timeless feel, or at least more of one, which is one of the reasons to choose black and white wedding photos. Some trends still show through but not as many.

2 They Capture Emotion

They Capture EmotionBlack and white wedding photos really put the emphasis on emotion. They can clearly capture what you were feeling. It limits the distractions that color photos sometimes give. You can certainly capture emotion with color photos but not as clearly as with black and white. They just seem to stand out with black and white wedding photos. Look at a friend’s and see this for yourself.

3 They Have a Dramatic Appeal

They Have a Dramatic AppealBlack and white wedding photos have a very dramatic appeal to them. Lack of color seems to enhance the picture. You will have to look at some black and white up against color photos to see this for yourself. The dramatic appeal makes them all the more lovely.

4 There is a Beauty That Can’t Be Captured by Color

There is a Beauty That Can’t Be Captured by ColorBlack and white wedding photos have a beauty that cannot be captured by color wedding photos. There is something very unique and special about them. Of course, personal preference has to come into play here. Both color as well as black and white wedding photos can be lovely. That’s a good reason to choose some of both.

5 The Focus Shifts

The Focus ShiftsA lot of times you will get pulled into the details in a color wedding photo. That can be a wonderful thing because you want to capture those details. But if you want to truly capture the feel of the moment, black and white photos are best at that. They cut down on all the back details and allow you to see the romance of the moment. That is what you will want to remember the most.

6 They Have a Vintage Feel

They Have a Vintage FeelMany women have a love for styles of the days gone by. Having black and white wedding photos can give them a vintage feel. It isn’t a vintage feel in that they are from an exact time period in the past but just an overall vintage feel. If you love the look of liquid eyeliner and full red lips, more than likely black and white wedding photos are going to appeal to you. A love of vintage styles and black and white photos just fit together.

7 It is a Different Perspective of Your Wedding Day

It is a Different Perspective of Your Wedding DayColor wedding photos are perfect at capturing things exactly as they were on your wedding day. But black and white wedding photos offer a different perspective. It is a different way of capturing your memories. And when it comes to wedding memories, why not have more than one way to do so?
