When we first got engaged I knew exactly what my "Something Old" would be. There are five very special people in my life; my grandparents from both sides of my family and my great aunt, who have passed away and I always knew that their spirits and love would be there with me on my big day. On my bridal bouquet I pinned my grandmother's name pin, my great aunt's butterfly pin, and a locket that belonged to my other grandmother. I love the history and the memories that this photo will always carry, this is why I believe that having "Something Old" with you on your wedding day is one of the best wedding traditions to keep around forever.
The first idea that probably pops in your head for "Something New" for your wedding day would be your gown, of course if this is what you want it to be that works just fine. However, I love the idea of wearing something new that was just given to you as a gift from your soon to be hubby and vice versa. When you are both getting ready you can have a bridesmaid and groomsmen bring you the gift to open so your photographer can capture the excitement. A "Something New" from your groom could be a necklace, a ring for your right hand, or even a new pair of earrings. For your groom a nice pair of cufflinks or new cologne for him to wear would be a perfect way for him to share this best wedding tradition with you.
If you are looking for a pair of earrings or a bracelet that would help complete your wedding day look, perhaps your MOH or one of your bridesmaids has something that could be your "Something Borrowed". When you walk down the aisle wearing that borrowed item your friend or family member shared with you, you feel loved and blessed knowing that they are all there to help you celebrate this special day and celebrate you and your fiance. This is why I love this wedding tradition and believe that it should be around forever!
Continuing with the, "Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed... here is our "Something Blue". Nowadays there are many ways to incorporate that "Something Blue" detail into your wedding day attire for this wedding tradition. You can carry a blue hydrangea bouquet, sew your wedding date with blue thread on the inside of your gown, or wear these cute blue 'I Do' stickers on the bottom of your wedding heels!
