We are always inspired by celebrity street fashion for our own every day look, but when it comes to the red carpet we are in awe of the surprising bridal looks we find. The dresses from the red carpet that inspire our bridal looks don't have to be in ivory or white either. Check out these 7 Amazing Bridal Looks Inspired by Emmy Dresses and perhaps one of them will be the gown you have been dreaming of for your big day...
Many of us who aren't fashionistas may not have heard of Jason Wu before his Target collection, but now that we have seen what he can we are fallen in love with everything he does. If you ask me, I think Jessica Pare from 'Mad Men' looks ready to walk down the aisle in this custom Goddess like Jason Wu gown she wore on the Emmy red carpet. She gets an A+ for this inspiring bridal look, and I love that her black clutch matches her black belt!
I'm a bit surprised that Portia de Rossi received horrible fashion critiques on the Valentino pant suit she wore to the Emmys, I for one think she looks classy and elegant. This is a unique yet sophisticated bridal look for those who want to wear something other than a gown. A paint suit would be perfect for a courthouse wedding and if you prefer Ellen's look, that would work just as well.
This may not look like the peplum design you've been seeing on the runway, however if you search for the Angel Sanchez peplum dress this one will pop up and even on Martha Stewart! This dress is actually a bridal look that Kaley Cuoco wore as an elegant yellow evening gown for the Emmy red carpet. This is one of my favorite looks from the award show, I love the elegant look of the gown paired with a soft and messy side braid!
Kerry Washington is simply glowing in this stunning Vivienne Westwood gown. I can see a bride in this red carpet inspired bridal look walking down the aisle in a gorgeous chandelier filled ballroom. I can also picture the bride wearing her hair down and carrying a soft pink peony bouquet while her groom is wearing a bow tie tuxedo.
Wow, at first I had no idea this gorgeous lady was Julianne Hough, I know...can you believe it! She looks breathtaking in this gorgeous Georges Hobeika mint mermaid gown. Mint is a trending color right now for 2012-2013 weddings and if you are a one of a kind bride, then you can tell everyone that your mint bridal look was inspired by the Emmy red carpet! I think Ryan Seacrest should pop the question after seeing his girlfriend Hough in this stunning gown!
Julianne Moore looks amazing in Christian Dior Couture. I love the long sleeves, a detail I'm hoping inspires bridal looks this fall and winter season. Not many women can pull off this shade of yellow or this skin tight cashmere top, but she does it with perfection. I love that she lets the dress and her beauty speak for itself; when you have a gown as loud as this one it's a good idea to wear less makeup and accessories.
How can you not love Zooey Deschanel? For some reason there were some dislikes on her Emmy red carpet look. But I disagree with them and say that her Reem Acra, tulle gown is one that will inspire fairytale bridal looks for Spring 2013. This dreamy, baby blue gown would look sweet and feminine walking down the aisle as is, however this color was customized for Deschanel. You can find it in a dusty rose, off-white color in the Reem AcraResort 2013 collection.
Kristen Wiig seems to march to the beat of a different drummer than the rest of Hollywood and that's why I love her so much! She looks sexy in this tea length chiffon Balenciaga dress, which I'm sure made her stand out amoung the ball gowns and floor length dresses worn by most of the ladies on the Emmy red carpet. Brides don't be afraid to be daring and different like Kristen. Wear a tea length gown like this inspiring bridal look as you walk down the aisle on the beach or even for a country chic wedding while wearing cowgirl boots!
As you can see by these gorgeous Emmy gowns, a dress doesn't have to be white or off-white to inspire your bridal look. See beyond the color and look at the details, the cut, and shape of a dress to inspire your bridal look or embrace the color and dare to be the unique bride that you are. Can you see your bridal look in any of these Emmy dresses?
